Landscape-Representation, Intervention, and Body-as-Site; Reading Response (Green Dreams, from Eccentric Spaces)

1. Marie Antoinette's 'hameau', or, The Queen's Hamlet (model farm, Palace of Versailles, France)

The Queen's Hamlet model farm Palace of Versailles, France was created in the 17th-century and was first a hunting lodge, then a seat of power, and finally, from the 19th century onwards, a museum.


2. Ha-ha (recessed wall)

Ha-ha (recessed walls) gardens was a pioneering new system to border the gardens which are created issues in keeping animals out of the gardens. (As I research Bridgeman created England's first Ha-ha).

3. Parco del Mostri (garden, Italy)
Parco del Mostri garden in Italy was created during the 16th century showcasing mannerist sculptures set around Italian gardens. 

4. Roman Forum (ruins, Italy)
Roman Forum in Italy is the most important forum and is surrounded by the ruins of several important ancient government buildings at the center of the city of Rome.

5. Boboli Garden (garden, Italy)
Boboli Garden in Italy (11 acres) contains a collection of sculptures dating from 16th to 18th centuries.

6. Jardin du Luxembourg (garden, France)
Jardin du Luxembourg in France is the second largest public park in Paris that split into French gardens and English gardens.   

7. Tivoli Garden (Villa d'Este, Rome, Italy)
Tivoli Garden Villa d'Este in Rome, Italy is known especially for its Renaissance garden and is included in the UNESCO world heritage list.

8. Bernini's Four Rivers (Italy)
Bernini's Four Rivers in Italy portrays the Gods of the four great rivers in the four continents as then recognized by the Renaissance geographers: the Nile in Africa, the Ganges in Asia, the Danube in Europe and the Río de la Plata in America.

9. Jean Dubuffet's Jardin d'Emaille (Netherlands)
Jean Dubuffet's Jardin DeMille in the Netherlands solely designed to study the conflict of an artificial garden in a garden of real trees and real lawns.


10. Stowe Garden (England)

Stowe Garden in England (over 400 acres) is established by Charles Bridgeman who design the transformation from formal gardens to the famous landscape.

11. Stourhead Garden (England)

Stourhead Garden in England (2,650-acre estate) is one of the world-famous garden cared by the National Trust.  

12. Washington DC parks ( USA)
The Washington DC parks including the National Mall and Memorial Parks displays America’s monuments to founding fathers, civil rights leaders, and fallen soldiers, as well as museums with collections of art and artifacts.

13. Picturesque 
Picturesque exemplifies a complete scenery of a landscape that seems to attract an artistic appeal.
